I have a story that I cannot explain. Skinwalkers maybe?

I have a story that I cannot explain. Skinwalkers maybe? Hi, one night I was out off-roading with a friend of mine near Fort McDowell Arizona. We decided to stop and make a small fire and talk. As we were grabbing some fire wood and got a fire going we realized that I dropped my car keys. While looking for the keys we kept hearing weird animal noises. When suddenly a rock flys out of nowhere nearly hitting me as it lands next to my foot. This freaks my friend and I out and we run back to our fire and begin shouting. But the rocks kept coming every now and again. We thought it was maybe some dumb teenagers and we threw a few rocks back only to be met with bigger rocks that nailed our fire completely killing our only visible light aside from the moon. We panicked and ran down the dirt road still leaving my keys behind somewhere down there and abandoning the Jeep. We called 911 as we continued to be hit by rocks. My friend and I eventually decided to run back and we found the keys and were still being stoned alive by whatever was out there. We sped out of there like a bat out of hell. We could not explain these experiences but we would like to know. Was this experience Skinwalkers? Location: Bottom of the dirt road off Bush Highway in the Sycamore Creek area. Just up the small hill that leads up from the dried up river bed.
